We highly recommend taking plenty of time for yourself to explore the island. Here are some of our favorite things to do!
Ke'e beach and the Kalalau trail are located in Hā’ena State Park on Kauai's North Shore. Visiting here gives you a different experience than on the rest of the island because you get to see the Nā Pali Coastline which is protected land you can't get to by car. The trail ensures beautiful views of Kauai's giant green mountains and an unobstructed view of the ocean. Ke'e beach is right there when you arrive and is great for snorkeling and swimming. It is also one of the cleanest beaches on the island. You have to reserve a shuttle to get to the park so be sure to do so in advance with the website linked here. If you need any help booking let us know!
This is completely optional but we plan to book this experience for every wedding guest who is interested! The tour starts with kayaking the Wailua River following a small hike to Secret Falls. The experience requires a moderate amount of exercise but should be doable for everyone. Check out the website for more info!
Jojo's is a Foley tradition and also what we named our kitten Jo after. It is the best shave ice on the island. Our favorite order is the Very Berry. There are four locations in Kauai, one in Kapaa, Waimea, Hanalei, and Koloa. We hope you get the chance to try it!
Poipu beach is one of Emily's favorite places to not only swim but to watch the sea turtles that are constantly inhabiting the shore line. Poipu beach is also a great place for snorkeling! Puka Dog Hawaiian Style Hot Dog stand is located right across the street from the beach so you must get a hotdog while watching the sea turtles!
This is Ian's favorite quick bite. There are Musubi Trucks located all around the island and there is one right across the stress from the Royal Sonesta. They have different types of Hawaiian style musubi and the prices are very reasonable!
